Evolve Care Group has celebrated its much-anticipated annual "away day," marking a heartening return to the tradition after a hiatus due to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Since its inception in 2006, the event has evolved into an increasingly special and meaningful gathering, bringing together diverse Teams, Leaders and Guests from across the Evolve group.
This year, the 2023 away day took on a particularly enchanting theme: Alice in Wonderland. This choice was not arbitrary but strategically aligned with Evolve's overarching mission—to ensure that all individuals engaged in social care experience lives imbued with dignity, independence, and overall well-being. The theme drew parallels with Alice's journey in the classic tale, emphasising the significance of embracing one's true self. Much like Alice navigating societal expectations and constraints, Evolve fosters an environment where each team member is encouraged and supported in recognising and utilising their unique qualities and strengths.
The venue for this extraordinary occasion was the Double Tree Bristol North hotel, transformed into a magical immersive experience by the creative touch of Event-Trees based in Oadby who create stunning environments with artificial foliage and trees. The room underwent a stunning metamorphosis, featuring a central magic oak tree, a captivating walkway tunnel adorned with forestry, and a themed musical entrance channeling the whimsical spirit of Carroll Lewis's iconic tale. Guests were welcomed by the ever-prompt White Rabbit, setting the stage for a day filled with inspiration and learning.
As the day's events drew to a close, the festivities seamlessly transitioned to the evening at Evolve's Bristol-based office. The third-floor training room underwent a captivating makeover, becoming a magical winter wonderland. Event planners orchestrated an enchanting ambiance complete with a sit-down dinner, complimentary bar throughout the night, a full-length photo mirror, a DJ, dancing and a static snow-board! Adding to the magical atmosphere, guests were encouraged to dress in white or blue, with the assistance of a face painter to enhance the winter wonderland theme. Blue drinks upon arrival and delectable blue and white desserts added the finishing touches to a night that was as unforgettable as it was enchanting.
